Voor we binnen gaan, staan we even stil en kijken naar de imposante façade van dit fraaie herenhuis uit 1875 dat in 1997 een gemeentelijk monument werd. Tezamen met de identieke panden van Plantsoen 3 en 5 vormt het één geheel wat betreft de stijl. Daarnaast vormen alle panden van het Plantsoen en het park een harmonische stedenbouwkundig geheel en een duidelijk voorbeeld van de façade-architectuur waarin voorgevels opvallen door de rijke architectonische vormgeving.

Entree
De entree via de prachtige houten voordeur in de beschutte portiek is zeker chique te noemen. Een prachtige hal strekt zich voor ons uit. De marmeren vloer, hoge plafonds en het schitterende trappenhuis met bewerkte spijlen zijn echte eye-catchers en geven deze ruimte grandeur. Wat een binnenkomst!!

Woonverdieping/begane grond
Via de fraaie dubbele tussendeuren met daarboven een schitterend origineel detail gaan we de royale L- vormige woonkamer binnen. Wat een enorme ruimte! De aandacht gaat direct uit naar de grote ramen aan de voorzijde, de hoge plafonds en de fraaie eiken parketvloer. Omdat deze verdieping iets boven het maaiveld ligt, is het uitzicht over het fraaie Plantsoen en het water van de Zoeterwoudsesingel wijds en prachtig. Via de hal nemen we de trap naar het souterrain welke zich onder de gehele begane grond verdieping uitstrekt. De hal met originele granito vloer geeft toegang tot de woonkeuken, bijkeuken en wijnkelder. Allereerst bekijken we de gezellige en ruime woonkeuken welke zich vrijwel geheel uitstrekt over de lengte van het pand. Zowel aan de voor- als aan de achterzijde zorgen ramen voor voldoende lichtinval. Aan de voorzijde twee fraaie kozijnen met dubbele openslaande ramen. De keuken zelf is luxe, heeft veel opbergruimte en is van alle gemakken voorzien zoals een inductiekookplaat, vaatwasmachine, afzuigkap, koelkast en fraaie verlichting op de achterwand. Before we enter, we pause for a moment and look at the imposing facade of this beautiful mansion from 1875, which became a municipal monument in 1997. Together with the identical buildings of Plantsoen 3 and 5, it forms a whole in terms of style. In addition, all buildings of the Plantsoen and the park form a harmonious urban whole and a clear example of facade architecture in which facades stand out due to the rich architectural design.

Entrance
The entrance through the beautiful wooden front door in the sheltered porch is chic. A beautiful hall stretches out in front of us. The marble floor, high ceilings and the beautiful staircase with carved bars are real eye-catchers and give this space grandeur. What an entry!!

Living floor/ground floor
Through the beautiful double doors with a beautiful original detail above, we enter the spacious L-shaped living room. What a huge space! The attention immediately goes to the large windows at the front, the high ceilings and the beautiful oak parquet floor. Because this floor is slightly above ground level, the view over the beautiful Plantsoen and the water of the Zoeterwoudsesingel is wide and beautiful.
